DOG WHEELCHAIR MEASURING GUIDE • USE THE CORRECT MAKER'S METHOD

How to measure a dog for a wheelchair

Dog wheelchair measurements are not universal. First work out whether your dog needs rear, front, quad or adapted amputee support. Then choose the wheelchair system and use that manufacturer's own measuring instructions. The Hub does not sell wheelchairs or receive commission.

⚠️ Do not use one generic measurement for every dog wheelchair.

A measurement used for one brand may not be what another manufacturer needs. Choose the support type first, compare suitable systems, then measure using the maker's current instructions.

Measuring for cheaper adjustable dog wheelchairs

Budget chairs can be useful, but first identify the exact make and model. Do not assume instructions for Walkin' Wheels, K9 Carts or Eddie's Wheels apply to a different chair. Look for the manufacturer's own size chart and fitting instructions before buying.

Already bought the wheelchair?

Measuring gets you to the correct size range; fitting still matters after the chair arrives. Check frame height and length, harness position, support, balance and comfort before building up walking time.
